The beauty of a simple gesture.

The beauty of a simple gesture.

My step daughter was in the yard with me this morning and was fascinated by the poppy’s growing there. She especially liked the flower heads that were left after the petals have fallen away and asked if she could cut them to use in a project. She’s 7 years old, almost 8. After spending some time collecting them carefully, she assembled them into a bouquet and presented them to me in a vase made of notebook paper and masking tape…”a late mother’s day present for you”, she said. Such simple words. Such a beautiful gesture.

Any of you that are step parents can attest that these moments are precious and seemingly few and far between.

For me these moments represent true beauty and capture the essence of artful living.

Thank you, Ida.

By the way…she took this picture:)
